Mobilisation of CAT775GQ Service Truck to Eliwana Mine Site
July 31, 2022PKKP Enterprises’ contract with FMG has reach another milestone with the mobilisation of the CAT775GQ Service Truck to the Eliwana mine site.
Eliwana, FMG’s dry ore processing facility, is situated on land traditionally owned by the Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura people, 90 kilometres west of Tom Price in the Pilbara.
The Eliwana Project is estimated to have an annual production rate of 30mtpa and an anticipated life span of 20 years which will provide longevity and ongoing opportunities for PKKP Enterprises and the PKKP people. Aboriginal people make up around 14 percent of the operation’s workforce.
The FMG/PKKP Enterprises contract spans 3 years and will involve the overseeing some of the maintenance and service support, civil services, workforce catering and food services, facility management and operations, recruitment, and labour hire service.
The CAT 775GQ chassis was purchased from WesTrac, with a customised service module added by Support Vehicles Australia (SVA), https://www.svaust.com/rigid-mining-service-trucks bringing the total value of the asset to $2.6 Million.
The customisation of the vehicle allows rapid refuelling, oil changes and other servicing of the heavy-duty machinery on site. It’s a robust, reliable, multi specification vehicle providing fast and effective on-site maintenance. Tank volumes can be combined or separated to customise capacities for oils, coolant, and waste oil recovery.
General Manager Shaun Burgess visited the Eliwana site to oversee the mobilisation.
“The capability of the customised CAT775G is significant, it allows fast and efficient servicing and general operational support. It’s a great asset which will optimise FMG’s site operations.”
Shaun was joined by; Yuluwirri McGrady, Manager, Aboriginal Business Development, Rosli Wheelock, GM Eliwana Mine, and Ninah Talib, FMG’s Aboriginal Development Advisor on site to oversee the mobilisation.
